Trade Concerns Database

The WTO Specific Trade Concerns (STCs) Database compiles detailed records of trade-related issues raised by World Trade Organization (WTO) Members in various WTO committees. These concerns pertain to measures that Members perceive as potentially inconsistent with WTO agreements or as creating unnecessary barriers to trade.

Key Data Components:
Trade Concerns: Detailed descriptions of specific trade issues raised by Members, including the nature of the concern, the affected products, and the WTO agreements cited.
Committee Discussions: Records of discussions and deliberations in relevant WTO committees, such as the Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), Committee on Import Licensing (IL), Council for Trade in Goods (CTG) and the Committee on Market Access (CMA).
Member Responses: Information on the actions taken or responses provided by the Members whose measures are under scrutiny.
Committee Classification: Data is organized according to the specific WTO committees areas where the concerns were raised, facilitating targeted analysis.
Product Classification: Concerns are categorized by product sectors, allowing users to identify issues within specific industries.
