MSME Provisions in Regional Trade Agreements

Developed at the request of the WTO Informal Working Group on MSMEs, this database provides an overview of MSME-related provisions in Regional Trade Agreements notified to the WTO.

Regional Trade Agreements: A treaty between two or more governments that define the rules of trade for all signatories.
Provisions: Rules or clauses within an RTA. For this database, any text with a reference to Small- or Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) is identified as a relevant provision.
Coverage: The database covers all notified RTAs from 1959 through the current year.
Data Format: Data are derived from text files in different formats (pdf, doc, html) and aggregated into an Excel database.
