Statistics on Merchandise Trade

This Statistics on merchandise trade dataset is a webpage providing access to statistics on merchandise trade made available by the WTO Secretariat. Data include merchandise exports and imports, globally or by product and/or country.

Key Data Components:
Annual trade values stretching back to 1948 for the world, regions and around 200 economies.

Annual trade indices (value, volume, unit value) from 1981 onwards.

Short-term (quarterly and monthly) merchandise trade values, volumes, and price/volume indices.

Product and commodity breakdowns: Trade data is broken down by commodity groups according to the SITC classification, and by broad product groups.

Data sources and methodology: Drawn from national sources, complemented by data from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD / UN COMTRADE), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and others, together with WTO estimates where needed.
