Countervailing Measures

This dataset provides access to certain information related to countervailing duty actions taken by WTO Members to remedy the effects of unfair and injurious government subsidization. This includes: (1) information on the initiation of countervailing duty investigations; (2) the application of countervailing duty measures; and, (3) information related to the termination of measures. The information in this dataset is drawn from semi-annual reports submitted by WTO Members, and presently reflects individual proceedings that led to the application of anti-dumping measures in force on or after 1 January 2020. Aggregate statistical information on the initiation of investigations and the appliction of measures is available from 1995. Aggregate data is available in PDF format, and may also be downloaded in Excel format from the WTO Website.

Key Data Components:
Investigations: Data on the initiation of investigations into allegedly unfair and injurious government subsidies that WTO Members have notified to the WTO.

Measures: Information on countervailing duty measures that Members have applied, including their scope and time-frame, and any termination of measures that Members have notified to the WTO, as described in the scope of coverage below.

Coverage: Global data covering countervailing duty investigations and measures that WTO Members have notified to the WTO. The information in this dataset is drawn from semi-annual reports submitted by WTO Members, and presently reflects individual proceedings that led to the application of countervailing duty measures in force on or after from 1 January 2020. Aggregate statistical data is available from 1995.

Data Format: Information and statistics drawn from semi-annual reports submitted by Members to the WTO Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures.
